About Marisol

Marisol spent nine years managing a photo lab, which mostly meant watching families make the same three choices: too many pictures, none of the grandparents in any of them, and nothing written underneath. She also watched what people came back for the following year, which was almost always the calendar.

She started Gifts for Grandparents after a December of being asked the same question by relatives, neighbors and one man in the parking lot: what do you actually get them? Her answer has not changed since. Find out what they already display, then choose the format that fits that spot.

She recorded an hour of conversation with her own grandmother in 2019 and will tell you, without being asked, that it is the most valuable file she owns. She writes every guide on this site.

How Marisol works

  • Format first, product second

A book, a framed print, a calendar and a digital frame solve four different problems. We pick the format for the room and the family, and only then look at what is worth buying in it.

  • Name the room it lives in

If we cannot say where a gift ends up — the hallway wall, the chair, the kitchen counter — it does not make a list. A gift with nowhere to live goes in a cupboard.

  • Flag the setup, do not promise it

Anything needing an account, an app or a Wi-Fi connection is marked so you check the listing yourself. We do not claim what a device does out of the box, we do not invent prices or ratings, and we give no health, mobility or medical advice.
